Keith Burnard joined the IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme in June 2016, where he is Senior Technology Analyst, Capture and Systems Analysis. Prior to that, he worked for the International Energy Agency in Paris as Head of the Energy Supply Technology Unit in the IEA’s Energy Technology and Policy Division.
Before joining the IEA, Keith enjoyed spells with AEA Technology (now Ricardo Energy & Environment), EPRI, ABB and British Coal. He has spent much of his career working on energy technology and policy issues, focusing particularly on fossil fuels and power generation. His publications for the IEA covered upstream oil and gas technologies, gas-fired power generation, HELE coal technologies and CCS. He has extensive international experience and has worked in both the public and the private sectors.
Keith is a Chartered Engineer. He holds a PhD and MSc from Bristol University and a BSc with Honours from Liverpool University.
